The Good Plant at the Right Place

The best time of planting fruit trees (walnut, chestnut), trees and ornamental shrubs (Mulberry plane, Albizia, Lagerstroemia) is autumn to promote rooting before winter frosts.

Planting in the fall allows the roots to develop, issue the first rootlets that enable the plant to grow the following spring.

However, you can extend the planting season all winter until late March, avoiding periods too cold or too wet.
